Go ahead and use that game as an example if you want. But it simply doesn't have anything to do with this year's Super Bowl.
First off, through the first 6 games of last year, McNabb was the worst QB in the NFL at that time. He completed 48% of his passes and threw 2 TDs and 6 INTs ... oh and he fumbled 9 times also. He basically sucked ass and was THE worst QB in the NFL. That was last year during the first 6 games of the year, McNabb was the worst QB in the NFL. The Redskins, Giants, Cowboys and Bills also shut down McNabb during those games.
This year, he completed over 64% of his passes and he threw 35 TDs and 8 INTs in 16 NFL games (including post-season). Needless to say, that is among the tops in the NFL this year. A sharp contrast between early 2003 and 2004. In conclusion, the McNabb that the Patriots tore apart last year is not the McNabb that they will face this year.
Secondly, the Eagles have a totally new defense than what they had on the field last year. They have all new starting LBs, DEs and CBs. So, they have 7 different starters on defense and about 5 or 6 new starters on offense compared to what they had last year.
Oh and by the way, those new starters include:
Terrell Owens (Pro Bowl)
Lito Sheppard (Pro Bowl)
Jevon Kearse (Pro Bowl)
Jeremiah Trotter (Pro Bowl)
Brian Westbrook
Sheldon Brown
L.J. Smith
Dhani Jones
Derrick Burgess
etc.
Do any of those names above ring a bell? Well, they didn't start last year, but they will start on Sunday if that means anything to anyone.
